You’re moving into a home with security alarms
A new house may come with an existing security system. All the alarms and cameras function well, are hung in the right spaces, and are ready to go. In this instance, just get the phone to call and start a new contract. A Vivint installer will still come to your home to make sure there are no integration problems, and they could offer ideas on an upgrade or two. It's a quick trip, and you can have your 24/7 monitoring set up without worrying about any new devices -- unless you get some new devices.
The old homeowners can move an existing Vivint contract to your family for a small transfer fee to make the transfer a snap. If the outgoing residents are downsizing to an apartment or smaller home, transferring the home security service might be an addendum of the sale.
You want to move and bring your home security equipment with you
You might want to take your favorite Vivint system with you to a new place when you move. Luckily, it's fairly simple to do, as modern alarms and smart devices are plug and play. You can uninstall each alarm or camera by yourself or call a professional expert to take down your devices. Then an expert will put in the same features -- and any smart services you need to add -- in your new home. And your home security contract will remain the same.
